Job summary

Sun Holdings is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support multiple restaurant locations. You’ll troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and handle general facility upkeep, with travel across our casual dining brands.

A hands-on problem-solver who works independently and communicates clearly will thrive in this fast-paced, field-based role. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, urgent repairs, documenting work and coordinating with managers and vendors.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in restaurants or fast-moving environments.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and facility systems.
• Proficient with hand and power tools; able to perform repairs independently.
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record; frequent travel required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bonus: EPA or HVAC certifications and owning a personal tool set.
• Bonus: Bilingual Spanish/English for diverse locations.

Responsibilities

The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing day‑to‑day maintenance and repairs across multiple restaurant locations, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and general facility upkeep. This role responds promptly to urgent service requests, minimizing disruptions to restaurant operations while proactively identifying and resolving safety or facility issues before they escalated. The technician meticulously documents all work performed, including the time spent on site and the parts used, to ensure operational transparency and alignment with internal teams. Collaboration is key—this position regularly coordinates with vendors, restaurant managers, and project teams to deliver seamless service and support larger initiatives such as new restaurant openings, equipment installations, and remodels. This role requires frequent travel within the assigned region (up to 90%), with mileage reimbursement or a company vehicle provided.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands‑on maintenance experience—bonus points if you’ve worked in restaurants, retail, or other fast‑moving environments
• Strong skills in diagnosing and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general facility systems
• Confidence working with hand tools, power tools, and repair equipment
• Solid time management—you know how to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize without missing a beat
• A valid driver’s license and clean driving record (you’ll be on the road often)
• High school diploma or GED required
• Bonus: Trade certifications (like EPA or HVAC) and your own set of tools

Physical Requirements

• Lifting up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs., for deliveries or equipment
