Job summary

Avera Prince of Peace-Skilled Nursing is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform building inspections, basic carpentry, and routine maintenance of mechanical systems. You will ensure safe operation of heating, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, while performing on-site grounds care and equipment upkeep.

Responsibilities include PM scheduling, emergency response, and collaboration with contractors.

Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent; three to six months related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Driver's License - Licensing Board
• Boiler Operator - Licensing Board

Responsibilities

• Performs building inspections, replaces parts, cleans, and oversees heating and plumbing, outdoor grounds & landscaping, and snow & ice removal.
• Performs basic carpentry and maintenance work for the facility and fixtures including painting, remodeling, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Maintains and repair machines/equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, kitchen equipment, furniture, and office equipment on a scheduled or on-demand basis.
• Monitors and maintains systems that bring steam or chilled water to air handling systems and sterilizers; inspects and tests equipment.
• Creates and maintains preventive maintenance schedules; keeps logs of servicing.
• Responds to facility emergencies and participates in drills; communicates safety concerns to leadership.
