Job summary

Avera Prince of Peace-Skilled Nursing seeks a facilities technician to inspect, repair, and maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment. Day shift, 9:00am–5:30pm, regular hours with on-call every 5th week and on-call pay.

Responsibilities include inspections, basic carpentry, HVAC/plumbing work, and preventive maintenance. A sign-on bonus of $1,000 is offered for qualified applicants. PTO available and safety standards enforced.

Qualifications

• High School or GED or equivalent with basic technical aptitude.
• Must have a valid driver's license and ability to meet licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs building inspections, replaces parts, cleans, and oversees heating, plumbing, outdoor grounds, landscaping, and snow/ice removal.
• Performs carpentry and maintenance work including painting, remodeling, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Performs routine repair and maintenance on machines and equipment (beds, wheelchairs, kitchen equipment, furniture, etc.).
• Monitors, operates, inspects, fixes, tests, and cleans equipment that supports steam or chilled water systems and air handling.
• Maintains work areas, keeps records, and ensures safety compliance.
• Manages preventive maintenance programs and PM logs, and coordinates tasks with leadership.
• Collaborates with contractors and vendors; may perform off-site errands or minor duties as needed.
