Job summary

Green Country Habitat for Humanity is seeking a Facilities Associate to manage facility, fleet, and homeowner property maintenance. You will help keep the physical environment safe, secure, and compliant with safety standards at our Tulsa location.

The role involves routine maintenance of buildings, HVAC, electrical and plumbing tasks, plus coordination with a Safety Committee. A valid driver's license and flexible weekend hours are required, with full-time hours and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience with basic facility maintenance tasks and safety procedures.
  • Forklift or heavy equipment experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe working environment; clean and dispose of old materials.
  • Adhere to OSHA guidelines and safety requirements.
  • Ensure facility safety and coordinate with Safety Committee on infractions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine equipment inspections.
  • Maintain buildings, equipment, HVAC systems, and grounds.
  • Support fleet maintenance, scheduling, and repairs.

Summary/Objective

The Facilities Associate will perform tasks in relation to facility, fleet, and homeowner property maintenance. This position also ensures that the Green Country Habitat for Humanity physical business environment and homeowner properties are safe and secure from operational risk. This is a Safety Sensative position.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain a safe working environment by cleaning and disposing of old materials.
  • Adheres to OSHA guidelines and safety requirements.
  • Ensure the safety of the building and work with the Safety Committee to update any infractions.
  • Monitor and perform repair orders and complete requested repairs at all facilities.
  • Perform required preventative maintenance and routine equipment inspections.
  • Perform regular maintenance on buildings, equipment, HVAC systems and general building maintenance.
  • Perform ground maintenance duties as needed at all facilities and homeowner property.
  • Perform outdoor seasonal maintenance activities including snow removal from walkways, roofs and/or parking lots, and lawn, tree, shrub and flower bed maintenance at all facilities and homeowner properties.
  • Maintain fleet vehicles by ensuring the proper scheduling of truck maintenance and repairs; along with compliance of all GCHFH programs, including preventative maintenance and inspection of vehicles, non-scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting, repair, rebuild and overhaul of vehicles.
  • Perform minor electrical and plumbing maintenance to include, but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
  • Work with employees and volunteers to ensure that equipment and facilities are being maintained and used safely and appropriately.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Drives a van or box truck and pulls trailers.
  • Loads items at the work site in a safe and courteous fashion.
  • Assists in unloading truck following dock guidelines.
  • Operates powerlift equipment and various power tools.
Position Requirements
Skills / Abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline orientated environment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds keeping.
  • Ability to use common hand and electrical tools, and an eagerness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to read and check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Thorough working knowledge of facility equipment units, their usage, and safety procedures.
  • Understanding of necessary mathematics.
  • Knowledge of simple home improvement materials.
Experience / Education
  • High School or GED equivalent.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Forklift and heavy equipment experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Must possess valid Driver’s License with safe driving record.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule including Saturday and Sunday required
