Job summary

Craig Bachman Imports, Inc. seeks a Facilities Maintenance Associate to keep our Illinois facilities safe, clean, and functional across offices, warehouse, and grounds. You will handle building maintenance, preventative repairs, custodial support, and warehouse tasks as needed.

The role requires 3–5 years' hands-on experience, independence, and strong reliability. It offers a full-time schedule, 40 hours weekly, with potential evening/weekend hours and a competitive hourly salary of $20–$24 plus

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical, structural, plumbing, and HVAC issues.
• Perform preventative building maintenance.
• Move furniture and office equipment as needed.
• Paint interior and exterior walls.
• Landscaping and lawn maintenance.
• Snow removal and exterior clearance.
• Inspect warehouse equipment and loading docks.
• Order supplies with management approval.
• Coordinate with vendors for repairs and landscaping.
• Safety checks and adherence to company policies.
• Assist warehouse in receiving/shipping.
• Load and unload deliveries.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in warehouse.
• Operate material handling equipment per safety procedures.

Job description

The Facilities Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, functional, and professional environment throughout the company's facilities, grounds, warehouse, and office spaces. This position is responsible for building maintenance, preventative repairs, groundskeeping, custodial services support, and warehouse support duties. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of performing a variety of maintenance and cleaning tasks while ensuring facility safety and operational efficiency.

Duties

• 1. Troubleshoot maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, HVAC
• 2. Perform preventative building maintenance duties
• 3. Assemble and move furniture and/or office equipment as needed
• 4. Paint interior and exterior walls as needed
• 5. Landscaping and lawn maintenance duties as assigned
• 6. Snow removal through shoveling and/or plowing
• 7. Inspect and maintain warehouse equipment including but not limited to loading docks and pallet jacks
• 8. Order supplies, equipment, and materials as necessary with management approval.
• 9. Contact and schedule vendors in coordination with management for necessary building, landscaping and repairs as needed
• 10. Perform regular maintenance and safety checks as assigned. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. This role is a member of Safety Committee.
• 11. Assists warehouse as needed in receiving/shipping.
• 12. Load and unload deliveries as necessary.
• 13. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within warehouse areas.
• 14. Operate material handling equipment in accordance with company safety procedures.
• 15. Respond to maintenance emergencies and urgent facility needs as required.
• 16. Assists with custodial services as needed this includes but limited to breakrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms.
• 17. Perform additional maintenance, custodial, warehouse, or operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 7. Forklift certified preferred by not required

• 9. Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record, background checks and MVR reports are run pre-employment and annually post-employment, authorization of the background checks and MVR reports are a condition of employment

Working Conditions

This position works in a warehouse setting and requires outside facility maintenance with exposure to the elements throughout the seasons. This role includes outdoor work throughout the year.

Physical Requirements

Work involves moderate to heavy work in all types of weather. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday. There is a frequent need to climb on ladders and/or work on the facilities roof, must not be fearful of heights.
Full-Time M-F 7:00 am – 4:00 pm 40 hours a week. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
