Job summary

Mini-Systems, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Associate to care for buildings, grounds, and equipment. This hands-on role covers routine upkeep, minor repairs, preventive maintenance, and snow/ice removal to keep facilities safe and functional.

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of handling various tasks to support day-to-day operations. A HS diploma or equivalent and some maintenance experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational or trade certificate preferred.
  • 1–3 years hands-on facility maintenance experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record may be required.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine building maintenance and general repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and complete minor mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry repairs.
  • Replace light bulbs, fixtures, and other facility components as needed.
  • Perform painting and general building upkeep.
  • Maintain exterior areas, walkways, entrances, and grounds.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal and weather-related facility needs.
  • Move materials and assist with space planning and setup.

Description

Summary/Objective:

The Facilities Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining the company’s buildings, grounds, equipment, and general work areas in a safe, clean, functional, and professional condition. This is a hands-on position involving routine maintenance, minor repairs, preventive maintenance, groundskeeping, snow and ice removal, and other general facility-related duties as needed.

The individual in this position should be dependable, safety-conscious, self-motivated, and willing to perform a wide variety of tasks necessary to support the day-to-day operation of the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine building maintenance and general repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and complete minor mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and hardware repairs within the employee's training and qualifications.
  • Replace light bulbs, fixtures, filters, hardware, and other facility components as necessary.
  • Perform painting, patching, caulking, and other general building upkeep.
  • Inspect the facility and grounds regularly and identify items requiring repair or attention.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
  • Maintain exterior areas, walkways, entrances, parking areas, and grounds.
  • Perform snow and ice removal, including shoveling, snow blowing, plowing when authorized, and applying ice-melting materials as required.
  • Respond to weather-related facility needs when necessary to maintain safe access to the building.
  • Move furniture, materials, supplies, equipment, and other items as required.
  • Assist with setting up or rearranging offices, production areas, storage areas, and other company spaces.
  • Perform general cleanup associated with maintenance and facility work.
  • Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, supplies, and storage areas in good working order.
  • Assist outside contractors and service technicians and provide access to facility equipment when authorized.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and promptly report or correct them as appropriate.
  • Follow company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.
  • Assist with emergency facilities issues, as needed.
  • Perform other maintenance, groundskeeping, facility, and general support duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities, construction, mechanical work, or a related field is preferred.
  • General knowledge of building maintenance and basic repair techniques.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, snow-removal equipment, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to recognize situations requiring a licensed or specialized contractor rather than attempting unauthorized repairs.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple asks.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license may be required depending on company responsibilities
Requirements
Physical Requirements:

The position requires regular physical activity associated with building and grounds maintenance, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

The employee must be able to safely perform physically demanding tasks such as moving materials and equipment and removing snow and ice. The position may require work outdoors in hot, cold, wet, snowy, or other adverse weather conditions.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a manufacturing environment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. This position generally follows the company's normal work schedule. However, occasionally early morning, evening, weekend, or off-hours work may be required for snow and ice removal, emergencies, building issues, contractor access, or other facility needs.

Travel:
  • An automobile is required for travel between building locations.
  • A Valid Driver’s License is required for travel between buildings.
Required Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma or GED and/or Vocational or trade school certificate in building maintenance, HVAC, or electrical systems.

2. 1 – 3 years hands on experience in facility maintenance.

3. Driver’s license with good driving record.

4. Ability to read and understand mechanical/electrical schematics.
