Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 2-3 years building maintenance experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• EPA Certification Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and follows up with the Property Manager about maintenance concerns and the status of work orders.
• Maintains the internal and exterior condition and preservation of the property, including cleaning common areas, sweeping or shoveling walkways, and salting icy areas.
• Assists Project Manager in contracting vendors and taking bids for special projects.
• Paints, cleans, and repairs all vacant units within a timely and impeccable manner.
• Uses tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
• Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
• Ensures that maintenance parts, supplies, and equipment are stocked and available at all times.
