Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, one of the nation’s oldest and most frequented historical public attractions, is looking to add a Facilities Maintenance Technician to our team! Due to growth within the company, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will support renovations and maintenance on the property. This individual is responsible for maintaining all building equipment to ensure it remains in optimal working condition. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, climate control, roofing systems, ground support equipment, and maintenance/cleaning equipment. This is a full-time position with benefits.

What you will be doing:

1. Complete all maintenance and repair tasks as directed by Facilities and Operations management.
2. Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
3. Respond to emergencies and maintenance calls promptly.
4. Identify safety hazards, hazardous conditions, or maintenance needs, including repairs.
5. Manage building checklists to ensure assets are maintained and serviced according to schedule.
6. Monitor operation and proper use of all equipment and systems.
7. Maintain all operational buildings and structures.
8. Support emergency, safety, and disaster plans and procedures.
9. Contribute as a team player when assigned other duties as required.

Requirements

2. You offer exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to serve members, guests, volunteers, and team members.
3. You possess a High School Diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited technical school or apprenticeship is preferred.
4. You have proficiency in general maintenance and use of hand tools, including painting, sanding, basic electrical work, carpentry, plumbing (leaks, clogs, drainage), and basic electrical wiring knowledge.
5. You hold a valid driver’s license.
