As an Engineering Tech, you must maintain high standards in all aspects of internal and external service and embrace the Yarrow Group culture. You will manage and work with the guest services and housekeeping teams. You must ensure the safety of guests and enhance guest experience by achieving all Yarrow Group service standards, maintaining consistent quality, exceeding expectations, and completing departmental objectives efficiently.
- Follow safety and emergency guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Greet customers promptly with a friendly and sincere welcome. Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to understand requests, respond appropriately, and provide accurate information about outlet hours, VIP programs, events, etc.
- Complete general repairs including carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, painting, refrigeration, electrical, video, and kitchen systems as assigned.
- Adhere to daily work schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Perform work based on facility priorities and your abilities.
- Participate in training for all areas of each facility and basic problem solving.
- Attend shift meetings to communicate work schedules and issues.
- Complete cross training as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment as assigned.
- Communicate repair statuses effectively with team members and departments.
- Prioritize safety for employees, guests, and vendors.
- Attend safety meetings regularly and after incidents.
- Support the Safety Committee and report safety issues.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts.
- Diagnose and repair problems as needed.
- Contribute to the Perfect Room Program with Housekeeping.
- Assist with Deep Clean Projects alongside Housekeeping.
- Promptly answer calls and emails, log messages, and communicate guest needs.
- Meet service standards, remain calm, and resolve guest complaints within guidelines. Promote the hotel positively.
- Familiarize with local activities and attractions to assist guests and maximize revenue.
- Complete checklists and shift reports accurately.
- Align with the culture, values, and HR programs of the Yarrow Group.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude, following dress code standards.
- Implement and follow all concierge policies and procedures.
- Keep workstations and lobby areas clean and organized.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks and assist other departments as needed.
- Be on call as required.
- Minimum one-year experience in building maintenance.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing general systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and carpentry.
- Certification or working knowledge in HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical is preferred.
- Proficient with tools and diagnostic procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with high guest interaction.
- Flexible to work all shifts, with occasional overtime.
- Proven ability to resolve guest problems efficiently.
- Understanding of hotel operations and systems.
- Effective reading, writing, and speaking in English.
- Ability to handle internal and external customers with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage time effectively.
