Job summary

Braintree is seeking a reliable janitorial/maintenance worker to perform routine cleaning, minor repairs, and building upkeep across multiple town facilities. The role includes operating heating systems, managing routine repairs, and supporting landscaping tasks.

The candidate should have a high school diploma and relevant experience, with a valid Massachusetts driver’s license preferred. This on-site position requires physical stamina and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• High School graduation with six months of varied janitorial, custodial or maintenance experience.
• Must possess a valid Massachusetts Driver’s license; Class B with air brake endorsement is preferred.
• Good driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, scrub, and mop rooms, corridors, washrooms and toilets; polish furniture, floors and metal work.
• Operate oil fired or other boilers and maintain steam pressure for heating.
• Move and set up furniture and equipment; replace light bulbs and perform minor repairs.
• Clean sidewalks, lawns, shrubbery, and perform snow and ice removal as needed.
• Assist in construction, remodeling and general building maintenance where needed.
• Interface with Town departments and public as required.
