Job summary

FALL MOUNTAIN REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair district buildings, equipment and properties, ensuring a safe, attractive and healthy learning environment for students and staff. Qualifications

• Minimum three years' experience in maintenance and care of buildings.
• General knowledge of building repair, carpentry, basic plumbing, grounds, custodial and related equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problems.
• Must be able to furnish some of own tools to perform work.
• Ability to work without close supervision both independently and in cooperation with other employees.
• Ability to use online computer system and other related programs to access work orders, status of completion etc.
• Ability to drive and possession of a valid driver’s license and transportation.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
• Substitution of qualifications may be considered on a case basis by the Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair tasks in a variety of areas and as assigned by the Facilities manager.
• Perform all assigned maintenance projects within area of competence in an expeditious manner.
• Advise Facilities Manager of any maintenance problems or hazards encountered in the line of daily operations or during regular inspection of equipment or systems.
• Recommend repairs or procedures that are beyond the scope of responsibilities, skill, or experience, outlining the work needed and specifications required of an outside contractor or from another licensed member of the maintenance team.
• Remove snow and ice by shoveling, plowing, and/or sanding walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps.
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties and operate tools and equipment.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and materials at an adequate level.
• Maintain shop and district equipment assigned in a safe and orderly condition.
• Keep accurate records of work accomplished, including time and materials consumed in the job and report to Facilities Manager.
• Use online computer system and other related programs to receive work orders, update status of completion etc.
• Ensure that all applicable fire, safety, health, and environmental regulations and laws are observed or exceeded.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed, during and after business hours and on weekends
• Work as a team member with the district maintenance staff and in cooperation with other school staff and administrators in the accomplishment of repairs and maintenance
• Strive constantly to promote the safety, health and comfort of the students and employees
• Demonstrate positive work habits by showing initiative, cooperation, dependability, efficiency, and productivity
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Facilities Manager
