Job summary

Metropolitan Community College-Kansas City is seeking an experienced Facilities Supervisor to oversee custodial, grounds, maintenance and construction work at an assigned campus. The role manages staff, budgets, vendor quotes, and project coordination to ensure safe, efficient campus operations.

The position requires an Associate's degree and four years of specialized training in building trades plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Four (4) years of specialized or technical training in building trades including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; preparing work schedules; conducting performance evaluations; coordinating staff training; and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures.
• Oversees maintenance and construction activities at an assigned campus; may schedule preventative maintenance repairs, develop plans, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Organizes, schedules, and ensures completion of projects with College staff and external contractors.
• Researches, obtains and reviews quotes for external contractors, and schedules projects to ensure efficiency.
• Manages an assigned budget, monitors expenditures, and prepares budget estimates.
• Responds to work requests, prioritizes maintenance, repair, and construction needs; ensures safety and energy guidelines are followed.
• Orders supplies, parts, and equipment; maintains and uses equipment and vehicles per procedures.
• Maintains inventory records and project materials; updates database for accuracy.
• Performs trainings for maintenance staff and reviews work for quality.
• Performs snow removal and salting duties as required.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
