Job summary

Gilbane Development Company in Watertown, MA is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily physical building operations, implement energy management, preventive maintenance, and uphold quality standards across properties.

You will supervise vendors, manage schedules for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems, ensure OSHA compliance, and optimize utility usage while supporting a flexible, on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in maintenance engineering for commercial facilities.
• High school diploma with technical school certification.
• Strong carpentry, painting, locksmithing, etc.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proven knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical terms.
• Good verbal and written English communication; customer service.
• Team player with multi-tasking and flexible schedule.
• Proficient with Word and Excel.
• Experience supervising vendors and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Supervise vendors and subcontractors as needed.
• Maintain preventive maintenance and overall schedules for all.
• Institute and manage maintenance and operating best practices.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and regulatory guidelines.
• Operate and manage Building Management Systems (HVAC, lighting, security).
• Manage usage and procurement to optimize utilities.
