You will supervise vendors, manage schedules for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems, ensure OSHA compliance, and optimize utility usage while supporting a flexible, on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in maintenance engineering for commercial facilities.
• High school diploma with technical school certification.
• Strong carpentry, painting, locksmithing, etc.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proven knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical terms.
• Good verbal and written English communication; customer service.
• Team player with multi-tasking and flexible schedule.
• Proficient with Word and Excel.
• Experience supervising vendors and subcontractors.

Overview

Gilbane Development Company is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Watertown, MA. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all daily physical building-related activities. This team member will be directly responsible to implement and maintain the energy management, preventive maintenance, quality standards, operating objectives, and goals of the owner. These tasks must be performed in a manner that not only protects, but also maximizes the value of the property.

Responsibilities

Maintenance and Operations

• Supervise vendors and subcontractors as needed.
• Maintain preventive maintenance and overall schedules for all.
• Responsible for instituting and managing maintenance and operational best practices for all buildings, grounds and operating systems.
• Understand OSHA, other regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices to insure compliance with work and testing being performed by maintenance personnel, vendors and subcontractors.
• Operate and manage all aspects of the Building Management Systems (HVAC, lighting control, security and life safety).
• Manage usage and procurement to insure utility optimization.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years' Maintenance engineering experience with knowledge of commercial, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• High school diploma or equivalent with technical school certification
• General maintenance skills in carpentry, painting, locksmithing, etc.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
• Proven knowledge of technical terms used in HVAC, plumbing and/or electrical
• Strong knowledge of building trade tools and equipment
• Good verbal communication skills and written communication skills in English and customer service skills
• Must be a good team player with multi-tasking skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent attendance record and willingness to work a flexible schedule which may include after hours and/or on-call duties

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For Massachusetts this ranges from $33.22 - $35.00 per hour, plus benefits and retirement program.
