Job summary

Gilbane Development Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Watertown, MA to perform daily building-related tasks and manage energy, preventive maintenance, and quality standards.

You will supervise vendors, oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing and life-safety systems, and ensure compliance with OSHA and industry best practices while optimizing utility usage. A valid driver's license and strong English communication are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' maintenance engineering experience with knowledge of commercial, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent with technical school certification.
• General maintenance skills in carpentry, painting, locksmithing, etc.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Proven knowledge of technical terms used in HVAC, plumbing and/or electrical.
• Strong knowledge of building trade tools and equipment.
• Good verbal communication skills and written communication skills in English and customer service skills.
• Must be a good team player with multi-tasking skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent attendance record and willingness to work a flexible schedule which may include after hours and/or on-call duties

Overview

Gilbane Development Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Watertown, MA. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all daily physical building-related activities. This team member will be directly responsible to implement and maintain the energy management, preventive maintenance, quality standards, operating objectives, and goals of the owner. These tasks must be performed in a manner that not only protects, but also maximizes the value of the property.

Responsibilities

Maintenance and Operations

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For Massachusetts this ranges from $21.00 - $27.00 per hour plus benefits and retirement program.
