Job summary

The University of Texas Permian Basin's Physical Plant seeks a Building Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily campus maintenance, oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks, and ensure facilities are safe and reliable for students and staff.

Reporting to the Director of Grounds & Building Maintenance, you will supervise a team of full-time and temporary staff, manage work orders, coordinate maintenance across buildings, and uphold service level standards while promoting teamwork and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; experience may substitute for education.
• Five years in building maintenance or facilities operations.
• Two years supervisory or lead experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and building systems.
• Experience managing work orders; strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily campus maintenance operations (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, general repairs).
• Assign, prioritize, and monitor work orders using campus system (e.g., Brightly).
• Provide hands‑on leadership, training, and performance management to staff.
• Ensure safety protocols, OSHA standards, and compliance with university policies.
