Job summary

Schwarze Industries LLC in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Maintenance Manager on 1st shift to plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance across multiple facilities. The role focuses on keeping fabrication equipment and facilities safe, compliant, and productive.

The ideal candidate will lead a maintenance team, manage budgets, and collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Safety teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum five years’ experience in related field.
• Must be physically capable of lifting 51 lbs., 8–10 hour shifts; continuous standing.
• Able to wear PPE including steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret operation and parts manuals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for fabrication equipment.
• Lead maintenance team to ensure timely response to breakdowns.
• Coordinate repairs across fabrication shops, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and inspections.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Safety to reduce downtime.
• Manage vendor relationships and external contractors.
• Ensure OSHA and regulatory compliance for equipment safety.
• Monitor budgets and procurement of parts and tools.
• Inspect equipment and facilities to identify issues early.
• Support capital projects and facility upgrades as needed.
• Provide daily status updates and track progress to ETA.
• May assist other departments as needed.
