Job summary

Gildan is seeking a Maintenance/Engineering - Manager I for Facilities Repair & Maintenance in Martinsville, VA. The role leads a maintenance team across multiple shifts, implements maintenance best practices, and ensures OSHA, safety, and environmental compliance.

You will coordinate internal staff and 3rd-party vendors to keep facilities and equipment at peak performance. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in industrial maintenance with 2–3 years of supervisory experience, plus PLC/VFD,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Associates degree in Electrical/Electronic/Engineering or related field is preferred.
• 5–7 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• 2–3 years of supervision experience preferred.
• Must read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings; CAD experience is preferred.
• Must know PLCs, VFDs, hydraulics, pneumatics.
• SCADA experience preferred (Wonderware, Factory Talk View, Dematic EMS).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop a maintenance team across multiple shifts, including weekend hours.
• Coordinate 3rd party vendors and cover other shifts as needed.
• Manage the CMMS system, develop PMs, and assign work orders; perform audits on work completed.
• Conduct Safety, Environmental, and Operational training with the team.
• Perform Equipment Effectiveness Audits.
• Collaborate with other departments to synchronize maintenance and safety requests.
• Oversee scheduling, workflow management, and contractor labor.
