Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform technical and mechanical work ensuring community buildings, grounds, and amenities meet Greystar standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

The role involves diagnosing resident service requests, completing make-ready tasks for vacant units, and upholding high-quality appearance across exterior and interior spaces. Strong customer service and safety knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trades preferred.
• Must provide own hand tools unless prohibited by State law; handle tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair defects in community buildings, grounds, and amenities per policy and safety standards.
• Complete make-ready process for vacant units, including inspections and scheduling contractors.
• Develop and maintain cleanliness/appearance standards for grounds, exteriors, common areas, and leasing spaces.
• Periodically inspect work by staff and contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and materials; assist Community Manager with budgeting for repairs and capital projects.
• Perform monthly preventative maintenance procedures as outlined in policy and procedure manual.
• Support cost-control by fixing instead of replacing when possible and using tools correctly.
• Attend safety meetings, keep MSDS sheets updated, and stay compliant with OSHA and related laws.
• Demonstrate strong customer service by addressing residents and team questions promptly and professionally.
