Job summary

Minnetonka Public School Service Center is seeking a Maintenance Specialist for 8 hours daily, year-round. The role covers interschool mail delivery, routine and emergency maintenance, and coordination with trade teams to keep school facilities safe and functional.

Qualifications

Must have a boiler operator license and willingness to obtain a 2nd class and 1st class boiler operators license as soon as permitted by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.
Valid driver’s license with driving record acceptable to District insurance carrier
High school graduate or equivalent.
Evidence of excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
Basic computer skills for operation of a personal computer, energy management system and tank monitoring systems.
Detail oriented with demonstrated ability to organize and maintain records
Demonstrated accurate mathematical skills
Customer service oriented with positive interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both written and orally
Strong leadership skills.
Strong interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc.

Responsibilities

Delivers interschool mail and packages daily with district vehicle and transfers materials between buildings and offsite warehouse.
Responds to after-hours maintenance emergencies district-wide.
Performs scheduled repairs to maintain buildings, including carpentry, painting, and general maintenance.
Inspects and maintains HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
Works with other trades on larger projects and repairs equipment like desks, chairs, tables and lockers.
Coordinates grounds maintenance duties such as snow removal, mowing, trimming and debris cleanup.
Operates boilers, water heaters, compressors and other pressure vessels in line with state statutes; tests and maintains chemical levels.
Makes emergency repairs to heating, cooling and refrigeration systems and assists with inventory management.
Assists other specialists and custodial personnel as directed and performs other related duties.
