Job summary

Government of the Virgin Islands is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to oversee the upkeep of department buildings and grounds. Under supervision, you will perform routine maintenance, operate tools, and assist with safety inspections to keep offices and visitor areas well-maintained.

A high school diploma and at least two years of maintenance experience are required. The role involves daily tasks, coordinating with other government offices, and ensuring security and equipment function

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of two years experience as a maintenance worker with knowledge of operating various maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Opens the Department/Agency in the morning ensuring all security features are disabled; lights and office machinery are turned on.
• Performs routine maintenance tasks during the course of the day.
• Performs errands on behalf of the Director.
• Closes the Department/Agency and ensures that all doors are locked, and the security features are enabled, and office machinery is turned off.
• Monitors the maintenance of the building’s generator and other machinery.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
