Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the physical plant across the property, including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other trades. You will drive preventive maintenance, supervise staff, and coordinate repairs while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Role requires strong maintenance skills, supervisory experience, and the ability to manage on-call emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must possess strong maintenance and repair skills in HVAC, cooling towers, chillers, painting, carpentry, plumbing and electricity.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment throughout the building(s).
• Supervises, trains and directs maintenance staff through work orders.
• Plans, monitors, and appraises job results; coaches, counsels and disciplines employees.
• Assesses repair needs and estimated time needed for repair; determines need for professional assistance.
• Monitors the functions of service contractors and building repair and maintenance contractors.
• Inventories and acquires maintenance supplies.
• Maintains disaster preparedness and develops response plans for crises.
• Completes reports/work orders of repairs; on-call for emergencies and projects.
• Schedules and assigns work to meet shift requirements.
