Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Manager in Florida to oversee the physical plant across carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting and other trades. You will identify issues, implement preventive maintenance and manage contractors to keep facilities running smoothly.

You will lead a maintenance team, ensure safety, schedule preventive and reactive maintenance, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Strong maintenance and repair skills in HVAC, cooling towers, chillers, painting, carpentry, plumbing and electricity.
• 3–5 years general experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance or handy work.
• Computer literacy: proficiency in Word, Excel and email.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment throughout the building(s).
• Supervises, trains and directs maintenance staff through work orders.
• Plans, monitors, and appraises job results; coaches, counsels and disciplines employees.
• Assesses repair needs and estimated time for repair and determines when professional assistance is needed.
• Monitors service contractors and building repair contractors.
• Inventories and acquires maintenance supplies.
• Maintains disaster preparedness and develops response plans.
• Completes reports/work orders of repairs.
