Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking a Union Helper to perform non-technical general building maintenance, light custodial, and minor repairs. You will support engineering and technical services and help with preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.

You’ll move materials, maintain lighting, assist with meetings, and respond to minor issues. A high school diploma or GED, reliable communication, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are expected, with familiarity with Office apps.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or current enrollment in a 2- or 4-year program or technical school.
• May require a valid driver's license.
• Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to communicate effectively and organize.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor tasks including loading, unloading, and moving materials.
• Maintain lighting systems, clean fixtures, and replace bulbs and lamps; perform grounds maintenance.
• Patrol grounds and report hazards; run errands to support projects.
• Perform housekeeping and maintain professional appearance of property and spaces.
• Assist with office access and moves by handling crates, furniture, keys, and nameplates.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and summon assistance as needed.
• Prepare meetings and conference rooms; arrange tables and chairs as requested.
