Job summary

UniFirst seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to keep facility equipment running efficiently and to improve maintenance practices. The role includes supervising staff, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance across shifts.

Qualifications include a technical degree, 3+ years on industrial equipment, PLC and wiring knowledge, and strong reading of blueprints. The position offers on‑the‑job training and a Monday–Friday core schedule with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school or GED preferred.
  • Two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Must be 21+ with valid driver's license and clean record.
  • Reading blueprints/schematics required.
  • 3+ years repairing industrial processing equipment.
  • Maintenance admin skills: planning, scheduling, budgeting, vendor mgmt.
  • Ability to read maintenance literature in English.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required.
  • Lockout/Tagout experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical/electrical problems using manuals and parts catalogs.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Perform basic welding for facility repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
  • Follow blueprints and manuals according to a schedule.
  • Monitor wastewater/boiler chemistry and record results.
  • Manage and assign maintenance tasks; cover all shifts.
  • Ensure safety and compliance across the maintenance department.
  • Train and develop maintenance staff; manage budget and parts.
