Job summary

University Partners in Lawrence, KS seeks a Maintenance Supervisor responsible for the physical integrity of communities, scheduling work orders, preparing apartments for occupancy and overseeing ongoing projects.

You will lead maintenance staff, provide training, ensure compliance with OSHA/EPA, manage budgets, and coordinate with Community Manager to address resident issues while maintaining service standards.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of electric, plumbing, HVAC and basic construction.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and regulations.
• Ability to lead, manage and train others in a team environment.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication with residents and staff.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage budgets and timelines.
• Must have own tools and be able to work weekends or overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Schedule work orders and oversee maintenance staff across the community.
• Provide training and fill-in support for maintenance personnel.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA guidelines and maintain safety records.
• Coordinate with Community Manager on make-ready and occupancy activities.
• Maintain preventative maintenance and inventory according to CSR schedules.
• Inspect common areas, outdoor spaces, and utilities; coordinate with vendors as needed.
