Job summary

The Police Athletic League (PAL) in New York is seeking a Maintenance Porter to keep facilities clean, safe, and well-maintained while supporting site teams and events. This role reports to the Center Director and covers PAL sites in the Bronx.

You will perform routine cleaning of restrooms and offices, handle light maintenance tasks, update service tickets, and assist with vendor visits across PAL sites. This is a part-time role at 15 hours per week with a collaborative nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in custodial or maintenance roles is a plus but not required.
• English fluency is required for safety and effective performance.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning duties: restrooms, offices, hallways and common areas; restock supplies.
• Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum floors; clean windows and surfaces as needed.
• Update and resolve tickets in facility maintenance tracking system; perform light maintenance.
• Escort vendors for repairs and inspections; assist in troubleshooting and reporting issues.
• Portable transport of supplies; support events and cross-site maintenance activities.
