Job summary

Oakland Schools is seeking a Working Leader to ensure buildings are clean, safe, and functional, aligning with district standards. The role requires leadership, scheduling, and direct supervision of custodial staff during school operations.

Responsibilities include overseeing routine maintenance, security, and coordination with the foreman and principal. The position demands physical tasks, hazard recognition, and the ability to work outdoors in varied conditions, with testing during selection

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to organize work and time and work independently.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; good record keeping and follow-up skills.
• Must be able to identify maintenance and safety needs of a building and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform the assigned work schedule following custodial procedures.
• Maintain building and grounds security by opening/closing the building and supporting events.
• Directly responsible to the Working Foreman/Building Principal when school is in session; assist with custodial duties as needed.
