Job summary

Oxford Hills School District is seeking a Head Custodian to maintain clean, safe facilities across its campuses. The role requires hands-on cleaning, basic maintenance, and adherence to safety procedures to support a conducive learning environment.

The position reports to the Facilities Director and School Principal, with responsibilities including supervising custodial staff, training new hires, and ensuring proper chemical handling and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.
• Experience using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and scrubbers.
• Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules.
• Communication skills (written and oral).
• Ability to use a computer.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and Maintenance: Performs routine and heavy cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming floors.
• Gathers and empties trash and recycling.
• Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
• Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions.
• Cleans fixtures and furniture.
• Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs.
• Performs routine maintenance activities.
