Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a Maintenance Worker II to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and related equipment, respond to priority maintenance calls, and assist with grounds snow removal as needed. The role involves keeping detailed logs, monitoring system parameters, and coordinating repairs with hospital departments.

Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED and HVAC-related training; an associate degree or certificates in refrigeration/HVAC are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
• A minimum 3 months of work experience or educational/technical training demonstrating knowledge of electricity, plumbing, HVAC, ATS door hardware, casework components and various finishes.
• Associates degree in Refrigeration, Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Technology.
• Certificate of completion – Refrigeration Transition and Recovery, Types I, II, III, IV, Universal. 2–3 years in installation and maintenance of commercial HVAC systems or related operation/maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to priority maintenance calls for campus departments.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment and machinery.
• Maintain equipment logs with readings and test results.
• Inspect and adjust boilers, chillers, pumps, drives, and cooling towers.
• Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs.
