Job summary

The Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry (JIB) seeks a Handyman to perform maintenance, carpentry, and general repairs in the LIC/Flushing facilities. Duties include equipment upkeep, spill cleanup, snow removal, and assisting with building projects.

Requires a High School diploma (Vocational certificate preferred) and ability to lift up to 100 lbs. The role is temporary, non-exempt, with two daily shifts and potential permanent conversion.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational Certificate or Technical Diploma preferred.
• Must be able to perform medium to heavy physical labor and lift 50–100 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be punctual, friendly and motivated.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment and supplies in good condition.
• Biohazardous spill cleanup and disposal.
• Snow removal in common area and salt to keep area safe.
• Performs carpentry tasks and repairs with quality workmanship.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Develops and maintains records of time spent and materials used.
