Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a Groundskeeper to perform cleaning and grounds maintenance at Damascus High School. The role is outside-dominant with some interior duties, requiring physical effort and operation of standard grounds equipment.

Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday with specific hours: Tue–Fri 6:00–2:30, Sat 8:30–5:00, and potential overtime. Wage range is $20.65 to $26.16 per hour, with benefits information available via MCPS.

Qualifications

• Completion of the ninth grade required.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in general cleaning of buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform building cleaning and grounds maintenance in schools and admin buildings.
• Operate custodial and grounds care equipment and learn safe handling of cleaning supplies.
• Monitor spaces to maintain a safe, secure environment; respond to emergency situations as needed.
• Assist with heavy lifting and moving of furniture and equipment (minimum 50 lbs).
• Work overtime or night shifts as required.
