Job summary

Housing Authority Of The City Of Durham is seeking a dependable Site Laborer to help maintain residential communities and support daily operations that enhance residents' living experience. This hands-on role covers groundskeeping, janitorial tasks, and assisting with resident service requests and community events.

You will perform cleaning, light maintenance, move appliances, respond to work orders, escort vendors, and set up rooms for meetings.

Qualifications

• Must have basic building maintenance or custodial experience.
• Able to operate basic hand tools and equipment safely.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently or with others.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, appearance, and safety of properties and grounds.
• Perform janitorial tasks: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms and common areas.
• Assist with moving/installing appliances and set up rooms for events.
• Respond to work orders and support emergency maintenance.
• Escort contractors and manage mail distribution.
• Follow safety procedures and organizational policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
