Job summary

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is seeking a temporary, full-time Custodian to perform custodial duties, operate equipment, and maintain facilities in a clean, safe environment. The role includes stocking supplies, basic maintenance, and supervising outside vendors as needed.

The position requires a High School Diploma and at least three years of related experience, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work variable hours, including some weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Three years of professional experience in commercial property maintenance, custodial operations, and/or construction.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment and perform housekeeping.
• Ability to manage inventory of custodial supplies.
• Good interpersonal skills; interaction with agency personnel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work hours may include non-standard hours and some weekends.
• Temporary, full-time position offering insurance benefits; no leave benefits.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties to maintain SLED facilities and ensure a safe working environment.
• Ensure re-stocking of supplies in all SLED facilities and proper operation of custodial equipment.
• Perform light maintenance/repairs as needed.
• Supervise outside vendors in facilities and in security sensitive areas.
• Ensure safety/preventative maintenance activities are performed properly and timely.
