Job summary

The State of South Carolina, acting through the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), is seeking a full-time custodian to maintain cleanliness across SLED facilities in support of a safe and secure working environment.

Under limited supervision, you will operate custodial equipment, restock supplies, and perform light maintenance. You may be required to work outside normal hours and some weekends, with benefits included for temporary, full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Three years of professional experience in commercial property maintenance, custodial operations, and/or construction preferred.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment and maintain good housekeeping.
• Ability to manage custodial supplies inventory.
• Strong interpersonal skills with agency personnel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Hours may include non-traditional times and some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties to maintain SLED facilities and ensure a safe, clean working environment.
• Restock supplies across all SLED facilities and ensure equipment is operational.
• Perform light maintenance/repairs as needed.
• Supervise outside vendors in security-sensitive areas.
• Complete safety and preventative maintenance activities as required.
