Job summary

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) in Columbia seeks a custodian to maintain cleanliness across agency facilities under limited supervision, operating custodial equipment, and supporting a safe, secure work environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 3 years of custodial or related experience, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to work varied hours, including weekends. The position offers health insurance benefits but no leave benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Three (3) years of professional experience in commercial property maintenance, custodial operations, and/or construction.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment and practice good housekeeping.
• Ability to manage inventory of custodial supplies.
• Good interpersonal skills when interacting with agency personnel.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work hours may include hours outside normal business hours and some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties to maintain SLED facilities, ensuring a safe and secure working environment for employees.
• Restock supplies in all facilities and ensure custodial equipment operates correctly; report deficiencies.
• Perform light maintenance/repairs as needed.
• Supervise outside vendors at facilities and in security sensitive areas.
• Ensure safety/preventative maintenance activities are completed properly and timely.

Education
