Job summary

Maryland Institute College of Art is seeking a Manager, Facilities & Grounds to oversee daily maintenance, grounds operations, and safety compliance across the campus. You will supervise facilities staff, coordinate contractors, and lead capital projects in a dynamic educational setting.

The role reports to the Associate Vice President, Facilities Management and requires strong project management, budgeting, and leadership to ensure safe, functional spaces for students and faculty.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressive supervisory/managerial experience in facilities, grounds, or trades.
• Experience managing preventative and corrective maintenance operations.
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations (OSHA, EPA).
• Experience managing small-to-midsize facilities projects.
• Bachelor’s degree or technical trade certification in related field.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day facilities operations, maintenance programs, and groundskeeping across campus.
• Oversee projects, contractor schedules, and ensure scope, budget, and quality.
• Establish maintenance plans, prioritize work orders, and manage resources.
• Enforce safety policies and regulatory compliance in all activities.
• Coordinate facilities support for campus events and emergency responses.
