Job summary

The City of Topeka is seeking a maintenance-oriented candidate to perform preventive maintenance on parking structures, landscape duties, and meter upkeep. You will also learn the Pay-On-Foot cash handling procedures and Scan Net gate system.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Kansas driver’s license, and at least one year of related maintenance experience. Entry rate aligns with city pay scales and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license and city insurable driving record.
One year experience in building maintenance, construction, or grounds maintenance is required.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on parking garages including gates, ticket machines, card readers, and overhead operator equipment.
Perform outside landscaping including mowing, trimming, trash and debris removal.
Perform parking meter maintenance including installation, removal, painting and repairs.
Learn bi-monthly Pay-On-Foot cash handling procedures and the Scan Net gate system.
