Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking General Laborers to maintain facility grounds, operate tools, and assist in various lines of business. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and customer interactions while performing custodial tasks in offices and shops.

Ideal candidates will have mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to communicate clearly in English. This is a physically demanding, outdoors role that may require nights, weekends, and overtime.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Must read and speak English well enough to understand directions and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility grounds through mowing, trimming, and litter removal.
• Operate hand-held tools and equipment; ensure safe operating condition of tools.
• Assist with organization and distribution of waste carts and bins; perform light maintenance.
• Drive safely while transporting, loading, and unloading containers; assist on route as needed.
• Perform general housekeeping and minor repairs to facilities and containers.
• Read and follow safety instructions and company policies; interact professionally with customers.
