Job summary

The Idaho Army National Guard is seeking a Groundskeeping and Building Maintenance worker to support Gowen Field, OCTC, and statewide National Guard Readiness Centers. Duties include lawn mowing, snow removal, materials handling, and building upkeep to ensure readiness across facilities.

Responsibilities encompass custodial tasks, basic repairs, and safe operation of equipment, with adherence to safety procedures and state regulations throughout all tasks and locations.

Qualifications

• Describe your knowledge of general grounds and facility maintenance tasks sufficient to effectively perform lawn mowing, grass trimming, tree and shrub trimming, materials placement or removal, pesticides application, fertilization, snow and ice removal, debris collection, custodial tasks, and light repair tasks.
• Describe your knowledge and experience in the safe operation of heavy duty pick-ups and stake body trucks up to the 2-ton category with trailers, utility task vehicles with trailers, skid steers, tractors, forklifts, lawnmowers, string trimmers, brush hogs, hedge trimmers, blowers, sweepers, wheel barrels, shovels, rakes, brooms, mops, axes, chain saws, and other types and varieties of equipment used in snow removal, material handling, groundskeeping, and building maintenance in all types of conditions.
• Describe your knowledge of safety procedures related to lawn care, pesticide use and storage, grounds maintenance, building maintenance, light construction, materials handling, and custodial work; to include knowledge in the wear and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Groundskeeping tasks including mowing, grass trimming, tree and shrub trimming, debris collection, and basic custodial duties.
• Snow removal, materials handling, and building maintenance to support statewide National Guard readiness centers.
• Adherence to safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment while operating equipment and performing maintenance tasks.
