Job summary

The State of South Carolina seeks a Grounds Maintenance Specialist for McEntire Joint National Guard Base in Columbia to maintain grassed areas, shrub beds, parking lots and fencing with safe operation of equipment. You will perform mowing, edging, pruning, and routine upkeep under minimal supervision while following safety procedures.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment, keeping logs, ordering supplies, and supporting repairs as requested by supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and custodial or grounds keeping experience directly related to the area of employment.
• Experience with lawn and grounds maintenance equipment is preferred.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Mow, edge and maintain grassed areas and shrub beds.
• Maintain parking lots and fence lines; prune and trim trees and shrubs.
• Operate and maintain a range of grounds equipment and vehicles.
