Job summary

State of Missouri at Jefferson Barracks Air National Guard Station seeks a Civilian Grounds Maintenance Worker to upkeep lawns and facilities in a secure environment. You will operate grounds equipment, perform repairs, apply pest control treatments, and assist with seasonal snow removal.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the grounds maintenance supervisor and facility manager while maintaining safety, reliability, and appearance across the campus. Competitive state benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a desktop computer system and can use various, common software programs.
• Knowledge and ability to safely operate powered groundskeeping equipment.
• Ability to use manual equipment and hand tools.
• Willingness to learn skills and to complete certifications needed to perform all the duties listed above.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lawn/grass areas and/or cover as required.
• Provide and manage ground maintenance requirements for supplies, tools, and parts.
• Maintain, inspect, repair, and operate outdoor grounds equipment.
• Maintain and repair sidewalks, curbs, driveways, storage areas, and parking lots; inspect ditches and drains as needed.
• Apply chemical treatments for plant and pest control.
• Perform snow or ice removal when required.
• Collaborate with grounds maintenance supervisor, state superintendent, production control, and facility manager.
