Job summary

Chamberlain in Meriden, CT seeks a Facilities & Grounds Supervisor to own the property, manage grounds, building repairs, and outside contractors. The role starts hands-on and grows into facilities ownership, requiring the ability to scope work, obtain quotes, and keep the site audit-ready for customers.

You will maintain GMP/SQF exterior standards, lead safety programs, manage budgets and vendor relationships, and ensure a safe, attractive, and compliant facility for production and audits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in facilities, grounds, or construction, including independent work.
• Experience scoping work and directing outside contractors.
• Manufacturing, food plant, or other regulated environment preferred.
• Valid Connecticut driver’s license with clean record.
• OSHA 10/30 or ability to obtain within first year.

Responsibilities

• Own grounds appearance: lawns, beds, trees, parking lots, signage, and lighting; seasonal plantings.
• Self-perform building repairs: carpentry, painting, patching, basic plumbing/electrical, door hardware.
• Manage contractor/vendors: scope, quotes, approvals, and invoices; ensure insurance/licensing.
• Oversee non-production systems: roofs, HVAC, lighting, plumbing, drainage, building envelope.
• Maintain preventive maintenance calendar and asset lists; support audits and safety.
• Plan and budget: 12-month facilities plan; track variance and support capital projects.
