Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a General Laborer to support facility grounds maintenance and custodial tasks at the Dayton campus. You will operate hand tools and power equipment, assist with waste cart organization, and help with basic repairs and upkeep of facilities and containers.

The role emphasizes safe work practices, ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures, and strong communication with internal and external customers. Overtime and flexible hours may be required.

Qualifications

Mechanical aptitude preferred.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to read and speak English.

Responsibilities

Maintain facility grounds-keeping including mowing, trimming, and trash pickup.
Operate various hand-held, electrical, and gas-powered tools and equipment.
Ensure safe operating condition of equipment per policy and OSHA.
Assist with organizing waste carts and bins.
Perform safe driving while transporting and loading containers and bins.
Assist with general housekeeping of maintenance shops and offices.
Repair and maintain facilities and containers as needed.
Paint and prepare containers; perform erosion control tasks.
