Job summary

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston is seeking an Assistant Director, Finance & Administration for its Facilities Department. This senior role oversees the department's financial operations, budgets, admin functions, and capital project financial oversight.

Partnering with Facilities leadership and Finance, you will ensure accurate reporting, sound procurement, and efficient resource use while translating complex financial data into actionable insights for strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in finance, accounting, business administration or related field.
• MBA/CPA/CMA preferred for advanced certification.
• 7–10 years of progressive financial/administrative experience in a complex facilities setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, administration, and monitoring of the Facilities Department's annual operating budget.
• Coordinate operating forecasts, variance analyses, and financial projections.
• Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with budgets.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership.
• Analyze spending trends and identify cost containment opportunities.
• Manage utility purchasing, billing, and cost dashboards.
• Develop budgets, cash flows, and financial forecasts for capital projects.
