Job summary

CBRE is seeking an Engineering Ops Manager to lead a team responsible for coordinating mechanical and electrical operations across facilities. You will oversee training, performance, and safety while directing contractors and engineers on maintenance and system optimization.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 3–5 years in engineering operations, with strong leadership, budgeting, and client-relations skills. Attendance for this role is on-site in New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience; in lieu of a degree, experience plus education considered.
• Membership of an Engineering related professional body (e.g., CIBSE/IEE) preferred.
• Experience in staffing, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention.

Responsibilities

• Provide formal supervision to employees; monitor training and development; conduct performance evaluations; oversee recruitment.
• Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities; set schedules, assign tasks, cross-train staff; track deadlines.
• Assist team with operations and maintenance issues.
• Direct contractors, subcontractors, and engineers on maintenance aspects.
• Supervise daily operation of facility controls and asset management systems.
• Enforce and merge customer engineering and maintenance standards into the program.
• Support annual operating budgets; evaluate and manage O&M costs for a location.
• Schedule maintenance activities compliant with customer requirements.
• Support operational analysis of all engineering KPIs.
• Drive continuous improvement and conduct peer reviews and site assessments.
• Integrate with clients for reconfiguration and operational changes.
• Lead by example; model CBRE RISE values and align stakeholders to agreements.
• Apply knowledge of own discipline and integration with others to reach objectives.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues.
