Job summary

Quantinuum in Brooklyn Park, MN is seeking a Facilities Engineer Intern to support the operation and maintenance of building systems, HVAC, and cryogenic production equipment in a high‑tech environment.

You will help monitor performance, assist in preventive maintenance planning, read blueprints, and coordinate with contractors. The role offers a hands‑on learning experience, housing stipend for outside-state candidates, and a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s program
• Graduating on/after 2027
• U.S. Person per contractual requirements
• Candidates must not be nationals of the PRC or Russia unless U.S. citizen

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering support, reliability, and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure, HVAC, building automation, mechanical systems, utilities, and cryogenic production equipment.
• Evaluate system performance, identify capacity or reliability risks, and develop technical recommendations for repairs, upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle planning.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for equipment failures, recurring alarms, process interruptions, and other system-level issues; implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Design and Plan facility and utility projects from concept through commissioning, including scope development, design review, cost estimates, schedules, contractor coordination, acceptance testing, and turnover documentation.
• Review engineering drawings, equipment submittals, technical specifications, operating procedures, and vendor proposals for safety, quality, operability, maintainability, and compliance
