Job summary

Emerson is offering an in-person engineering internship in the Twin Cities area (Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Eden Prairie, MN) focused on facilities and infrastructure. The program emphasizes hands-on planning, design, and modification of facility assets, with exposure to CAD, data analysis, and reporting.

Students pursuing a bachelor’s in engineering with zero related experience will gain cross-functional experience, learn project management, and contribute to energy efficiency and safety

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's in engineering.
• Zero years of related experience.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person at a Twin Cities location (Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Eden Prairie, MN).
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Contribute through planning, design, and modification of facilities assets to support business functions.
• Apply engineering principles to solve real-world challenges with exposure to project management, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Learn how problem-solving can be applied to infrastructure, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
• Participate in multiple projects at different stages alongside experienced engineers and facility managers.
• Be exposed to critical building systems such as HVAC, electrical distribution, and building automation.
• Assist in evaluating system performance and implementing upgrades for safety and reliability.
• Support compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
• Gain experience in CAD, data analysis, and technical reporting to support decisions.
