Responsibilities

  • Own the engineering support, reliability, and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure, HVAC, building automation, mechanical systems, utilities, and cryogenic production equipment.
  • Evaluate system performance, identify capacity or reliability risks, and develop technical recommendations for repairs, upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle planning.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for equipment failures, recurring alarms, process interruptions, and other system-level issues; implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Design and Plan facility and utility projects from concept through commissioning, including scope development, design review, cost estimates, schedules, contractor coordination, acceptance testing, and turnover documentation.
  • Review engineering drawings, equipment submittals, technical specifications, operating procedures, and vendor proposals for safety, quality, operability, maintainability, and compliance

Job description

We are seeking a Facilities Engineer Intern in ourBrooklynPark, MN,location.

All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the engineering support, reliability, and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure, HVAC, building automation, mechanical systems, utilities, and cryogenic production equipment.
  • Evaluate system performance, identify capacity or reliability risks, and develop technical recommendations for repairs, upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle planning.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for equipment failures, recurring alarms, process interruptions, and other system-level issues; implement corrective and preventive actions.

YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s program
  • Graduating on/after 2027
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person. defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE:
  • A bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or a closely related technical field.
  • Previous experience leading technical work, coordinating teams, or supervising employees or contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation, and environmental monitoring systems.
  • The ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, engineering drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and team leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and tools used for reporting, analysis, and project tracking.

$23 - $27 an hour

Compensation & Benefits:

The pay range for this role is $23- $27 per hour. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
