Job summary

Emerson is seeking an engineering intern in the Twin Cities area (Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Eden Prairie, MN) to participate in planning, design, and modification of facilities assets. You’ll apply engineering principles, gain exposure to project management, and work with building systems to improve safety and efficiency.

We offer a structured internship with hands-on CAD, data analysis, and technical reporting experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s in engineering.
• Zero (0) years of related experience.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person at a Twin Cities location (Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Eden Prairie, MN).
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Contribute through planning, design, and modification of facilities assets.
• Apply engineering principles to solve real-world challenges including project management and technical documentation.
• Learn engineering problem-solving for infrastructure, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
• Participate in multiple projects at different stages with experienced engineers and facility managers.
• Be exposed to building systems like chilled water, electrical distribution, fire protection, and building automation.
• Assist in evaluating system performance and implementing upgrades for safety and efficiency.
• Support compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
• Gain experience in CAD, data analysis, and technical reporting to support decisions.
